One wish I always wanted to fulfill being in New York City is to have my “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” moment. You know the moment I am talking about. You have bring something you would eat for breakfast over at Tiffany’s. You would stare at the window, looking at the glamorous items that appear to cost a fortune. Then you would eat whatever it is that you brought, and feel wonderful on the inside.
That’s the moment I’ve been dying to have. Instead, I created my own moment, and I owe it all to Dunkin Donuts.
I was sleeping over at a friend’s house over in the Washington Heights. Since I am a taxi cab person, the bus and the subway were some tiny adjustments I had to make. One day, I woke up feeling kind of in a hurry. I wanted to visit Times Square, but there were still some assignments I had to complete.
There was no time to waste. I didn’t know how the bus services ran during the weekend. I wanted to catch the earliest bus. I finished half of my work and just decided to finish the rest in the evening. I put on some clothes and left to find the bus station.
Once I made it to the block, I looked to my right and there was a Dunkin Donuts right next to me. Since I didn’t eat anything yet, I considered it an opportunity to finally consume something for the ride to Times Square.
Inside, you can purchase one donut of any kind for ninety-nine cents. I picked a regular glazed donut, which is my all time favorite flavor. I walked out and ran to the bus while eating the donut.
For the next couple of days, I continue having that moment. I would buy a donut and then eat it while running to the bus. I had one of those New York moments that most people who are just moving to the big apple always wanted to have.
I guess there are some things that truly happen in the movies. Because of that, Dunkin Donuts has now become my new best friend.
