Have you ever taken a look at the Chinese Takeout menu, or contemplated ordering yet another sandwich from the local deli only to decide that you are SO SICK of eating out??? You have? Me toooo! Despite my busy schedule and my fickle taste buds, I have found the convenience of eating out, well, quite boring. After a week of drive-thru menus, Chinese takeout, even sushi, I need a break from the delivery dinner norm. My body is craving the pleasure of a homemade meal, sans, the fat, calories, and cost of dining out.
Growing up as the youngest of three, I am the only girl, and ironically the worst cook of the family. When visiting, my parents have resorted to perusing the McDonald’s dollar menu, instead of salivating over a sumptuous salmon steak I baked. Tired of my plates being pushed to the side before first bite, I have made it my personal goal to devote 2009 to learning how to cook. I plan to be a lean, mean, baking, poaching, grilling, sautéing machine, and I would like to share my experiences with you as I travel on this road to healthy eating, and happy cooking.
Let me introduce myself.
I’m Gerri (yes, with a G) and I am excited to be a new contributor to Roobifood.com. Each week I will bring you a new recipe that will showcase vegetarian friendly and seafood fare. I’ll show you the before and after, complete with bloopers, blunders, blenders, and hopefully some of the most fabulous feasts you can sink your teeth into.
Stay tuned for next week’s delish dish and I look forward to hearing your foodie feedback.
Healthy Eating! Happy Cooking!
