I grew up in a typical Chinese family whose belief was for me to get well educated and to have a satisfying career in the future. Having this goal, my parents brought me to the United States eight years ago, but with anxiety and uncertainty. For me, “living in America” was like a photograph that had been turned into a 50000 pieces puzzle. It would take me years to put this puzzle together. Soon after I arrived in New York City, my family sent me to a public high school in my neighborhood which had the least Asian population I could ever imagine. Let me recall…I think there were only five Asian in the school. IT WAS A SETUP by my parents!! Their idea was to force me to adept to American culture, learn its language as quick as possible. I was totally against that idea, but I have to admit that it did help.

After high school, I went to University of Binghamton in upstate New York where I finished my dual degrees in Finance and Computer Science. My four years in college were NOT EASY. My rules were too harsh and my grade standards were set too high for myself. My dorm room was basically the library study room. But I never regret, because I know it will eventually be rewarding.

After college, I got hired at the Federal Reserve doing research. I had to move again! Currently, I am going to school for my master in finance. My schedule is pretty much packed everyday. But during my free time, I would spend time with my boyfriend. We would watch TV, movie, cook, go shopping, or eat out. We are food lovers. We would go out and try different types of restaurants and make comments about them. This is what the site is for. I think it is a very good idea for people who have passions for food like us to share what they have experienced in life in terms of eating. Oh, speaking of cooking, I am very good in Asian dishes (according to my boyfriend though). But I can say he is a very good cook. I love what I call “his signature dish“ which is chicken with mushroom sauce. I think he will be posting it soon. I highly recommend you to try it.

Enough for about me, I hope you continue to enjoy exploring the site.
