Formerly a food snob who only ate standard fare—meat and potatoes, baked chicken, and pasta, were always my favorite—I have recently transformed my culinary tastes and interests to include contemporary American, fusion cuisine, and authentic French. An ardent “foodie,†I particularly enjoy exploring Baltimore’s new and burgeoning restaurant scene.
Dining out at Baltimore’s many old and new restaurants is both fun and exhilarating. With my friends and family, I try and visit a couple of restaurants every month, and I pay particular attention to the suggestions of my coworkers and even strangers. You never know when you might get a great tip on that new, not-yet-discovered restaurant, which will soon become the next big thing!
When I’m not visiting restaurants, I also enjoy studying the culinary arts. From watching the Food Network to studying cookbooks and reading magazines, I remain fascinated by the chemistry of food. To this extent, it has become an obsession. I have even extended my passion for food to include trips to other culinary destinations. Most recently, I visited Savannah, Georgia, strictly to taste the local “low country,†Southern cuisine made famous by Paula Dean and Baltimore’s own, Cindy Wolf.
I am a graduate of Villa Julie College, with a major in English Language and Literature. I minored in Political Science and American History. Currently, I am a student in Johns Hopkins University’s Master of Liberal Arts program.
My past career was in politics, but I have since moved on to the private sector, working for a healthcare company, Maxim Healthcare Services. I work within the Proposal Resources department as a Proposal Developer.
Outside of food, school, and work, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, reading, exercising, and traveling. Of course, if food is involved, it makes these events much more enjoyable!
